Adelaide Writers' Week 2022 is SA's first 'pop up' Plastic Free precinct

Adelaide Writers' Week 2022 is SA's first 'pop up' Plastic Free precinct

Adelaide Writers' Week 2022 is going plastic free this year, and have been certified as a 'Plastic Free' Champion', South Australia's first 'pop up' event to have this certification from Boomerang Alliance's Plastic Free Places program.

Adelaide's festivals are starting the transition to Replace The Waste as well, and you can join us at Adelaide Writers' Week to hear first hand how events and festivals can address their carbon footprint and reduce their climate impact at Replace the Waste: Towards Net Zero Festivals & Events.

This conversation will dive into the waste streams of festivals and events to discuss solutions, alternatives and alignment with the phasing out of single-use plastics. Speakers will explore how venues and event managers can reduce their impact on our planet and meet the growing expectations of the community, looking at the good work already being done as the world transitions to a circular economy. We explore how communities, arts practitioners and people producing events of all sizes can embrace opportunities and move to running more sustainable events. What recovery systems best support this in SA? What are the alternatives to single use-plastic? You will leave this session feeling equipped with the resources and tools on how we can all champion solutions to replace the waste. with
