Single-use plastic drinking straws will continue to be available for those considered a designated person under the Single-use and Other Plastic Products (Waste Avoidance) Act 2020 – that is, members of the community who rely on these for disability or health needs.
You should not purchase single-use plastic straws if you are not:
- considered a designated person under the Act
- acting on the behalf of a designated person.
