General
- The organiser of the “Replace the Waste” competition (Competition) is Green Industries SA (GISA) of L4, 81 – 95 Waymouth Street, Adelaide 5000, ABN 76 149 388 126.
- The Competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Instagram.
- By participating in the Competition, entrants accept these Terms and Conditions.'
Eligibility
- The Competition entry period commences at 12 am on Sunday 25 January and ends at 11:59 pm Monday 23 February 2026. GISA is not responsible for any lost, late or misdirected entries. GISA is not responsible for the accuracy of entrants’ information or personal details.
- The Competition is open to South Australian residents, aged 18+, excluding:
- employees of GISA and their immediate families
- GISA board members and their immediate families
- employees of any business or organisation that holds a current contract with GISA.
- GISA reserves the right to request proof of identity of all winners and/or proof that the entrant was responsible for the submission. Proof considered suitable for verification is at the discretion of GISA. In the event that a winner cannot provide suitable proof, GISA in its absolute discretion may disqualify the winner.
- GISA reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and to disqualify any entrant suspected of tampering with the entry process.
Entries
- To participate in the Competition entrants must either:
- post a recent photo or video showing how they ‘replace the waste’ on Instagram with the hashtag #noplastichack and tag @replacethewaste_sa
- email a recent photo or video showing how they ‘replace the waste’ to gisa.sup@sa.gov.au.
- Eligible individuals may submit multiple entries, provided each entry is unique.
- Incomplete, indecipherable, offensive or illegible entries will be deemed invalid and will be rejected.
- By using the hashtag #noplastichack and tagging @replacethewaste_sa on your photo/video, or by submitting the photo/video via email, the entrant consents to GISA’s use of the photo/video, free of charge in future communications and promotions or other GISA business. This may include the “Replace the Waste” and “Which Bin” Instagram accounts and Facebook accounts, on replacethewaste.sa.gov.au, whichbin.sa.gov.au and greenindustries.sa.gov.au, and in print materials and/or digital, outdoor or TV advertisements.
- The entrant acknowledges and agrees that:
- it is the owner of the Instagram account
- it took the photo or video
- it has consent from any persons in the photo or video.
Prizes
- There are 10 prizes available, each consisting of:
- 1 x $250 Adelaide Central Market gift card (valid for 36 months, and subject to any further terms and conditions of the issuer) and
- 1 x copy of the Saveful cookbook, A fridge full of recipes (valued at $12 each)
- with a total prize pool valued at $2,620.
- The prize is not exchangeable for other goods or services and cannot be taken as cash.
- The prize cannot be transferred to any other person.
- Lost, stolen or damaged prizes will not be refunded or replaced by GISA.
Winners
- The winners will be chosen by a judging panel comprised of 3 GISA staff members by Friday 27 February 2026.
- The judges have absolute discretion to determine the winners and the decision will be final.
- The winners will be notified via email or direct message on Instagram by Friday 6 March 2026.
- The names of the winners and their winning photo or video submission will be published on the “Replace the Waste” Instagram channel, and the “Replace the Waste” website.
- The winners will have until 5pm Friday 20 March 2026 to accept their prize and provide shipping details to receive the prize via post. Prizes not claimed by this date will be forfeited and passed on to another entrant.
Final conditions
- If any act, omission, event or circumstance occurs which is beyond the reasonable control of GISA and which prevents GISA from complying with these terms and conditions, GISA will not be liable for any failure to perform or delay in performing its obligations and reserves the right (subject to any applicable law) to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Competition.
- GISA, its employees and agents will not be liable for any loss, damage or personal injury whatsoever (including but not limited to direct, indirect or consequential loss) suffered or sustained in connection with the Competition, the promotion of the Competition or the use of any prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.
- Instagram, its employees and agents will not be liable for any loss, damage or personal injury whatsoever (including but not limited to direct, indirect or consequential loss) suffered or sustained in connection with the Competition, the promotion of the Competition or the use of any prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.
- GISA may collect personal information about entrants for the purpose of running the Competition. Entry details remain the property of GISA and GISA has the right to publish them. Entrants consent to GISA collecting, using and disclosing their personal information provided in connection with the Competition for the purposes of conducting the Competition, contacting winners, awarding any prizes and possible future promotions.
GISA will:- only collect personal information for the purposes listed in this above clause 24 and will ensure it is stored securely and protected from unauthorised access, use or disclosure;
- not disclose the personal information to third parties except for the administration of the Competition or as otherwise permitted under the Premier and Cabinet Circular no 12 – Information Privacy Principles;
- allow entrants to access and correct their personal information upon written request; and
- retain any personal information for as necessary for the purpose of conducting the Competition or as required by law, after which it will be destroyed or de-identified.
